This is "Sweet Pea" she was adopted from some wonderful people upstate who took her in with a broken leg but was unable to keep her. She is an experienced traveler and has been to Chicago and back twice. She is also was caught by a cat and is currently undergoing treatment for a broken toe. She is adapting well to her new surroundings and likes to sit near Doodah in the evening. She was badly spoiled by her people and is quite demanding in wanting her way. (Isn't that unusual?) She refused to eat what the other Starlings eat and only wanted grapes, apples and mealworms. She would shake her head at the sight of the Dog food based food and sling it out of her mouth if you fed it to her. A short time ago Janie and Biggie Bird sent Doodah and the other Starlings a huge shipment of special homemade "Birdie Bread". We still had one in the freezer so we tried that and Sweet Pea started eating it even before it was completely thawed. So we mixed it with the other bird food and soon she was eating that too. Next time we just put out the bird food and she started eating. So the problem of picky eaters isn't a problem, they just want some of Janie's special blend to get them started.
