These Three Finches were in a nest on top of a fuse box on a front porch, the parents both had Finch Eye disease and one evening it was noted that neither parent returned to the nest in the evening. It was 36 degrees that night so the decision was made to remove the babies from the nest. Neither parent returned the next day. They are currently in a large outdoor Aviary and will be released very soon.
The Finches were released 29 June 02. All are still coming back from time to time to eat near the outdoor aviary from which they were released. All are healthy and two of them stay together. The Other one was very independent and travels alone at the time but all the Finches released in the past have all joined up with other Finches.
